Power Journeys
Teotihuacán Mexico,
India, Thailand, Hawaii, Peru... These are more than a list of exotic
locations. To embark on a power journey to such places is to take a
leap into the core of essential beingness – into the unknown, into LOVE.
My intent for these
journeys is for all of us to reclaim the power of love by seeing that all of
our limiting stories of unworthiness and all of our defenses are
illusions. Grace is here NOW! It is time for all of us to
take responsibility for our own inner peace, and to relax into the truth of who
we really are – at all cost!!
We have all projected
love out onto loved ones and at some point found them to be unreliable, and
have therefore concluded that love was not trust worthy. And, for the most
part, since love has been identified as being connected with another person,
this supports our distrust around it. However, love is not a person - it is
truth, beauty, clarity, peace and purity.
To know ourselves, to
surrender to the truth of ourselves, is to surrender to love. We are love! The
degree to which we hold back from surrendering everything to it is the degree
to which we suffer. Ask yourself, what would happen if I totally surrender to

The "dream" of Peru is very different
than the dream of the US and that made me look really hard at the fact that
there is not only one way to dream, there are many ways, none ”better" or
"worse". Of course, I "knew" that but to really experience
it in a deeper way that is more of what the teachings are about. Experiencing
what is there, without thought or interpretation, without imposing our belief
system on what is there, what is happening, allowing it to unfold and be just
what it is, in the moment. That's what Keshav constantly invites us to do,
gently asking us to drop all the stories, the filters, the interpretations and
just experience the energy for the unqualified, ineffable experience that it
truly is. We are a part of all that, we are all that. It is only the stories we
tell ourselves, those we have been told or those we are immersed in by virtue
of living in a particular place and time that create the illusion of separation
from whence comes our pain. We all have our stories and as we share them, we
realize, it is all the same story. There are slight variations or twists but it
boils down to the same story of separation and the subsequent pain and it
simply is not true. Can I say it has dissolved completely? No. I suspect for
some, the illusion can
drop away all at once. Although the illusion may not burn away completely,
instantly, every realization, every direct experience helps dissolve and
dispel the lies and we see a little clearer. Thank you Keshav and all my
fellow explorers. Thank you for sharing your stories, your examples, the beauty
of who you are behind all that "stuff" which allows me to see that in

Power journeys have been
a way for me to push myself to a point where the persona breaks down and
whatever I have stuffed comes to the surface demanding to be dealt with. Such was the trip to Peru. It was an intensive 12-day trip which I found
physically and emotionally demanding. I
was consumed by the experience. Each
part of the journey-- shamanic ceremonies and purification rituals, visits to
energy vortexes and walking in the ruins—broke me down a little bit more. It is always wonderful being with others who
share the work of discovering who they really are. Magnificent views, the beautiful and haunting
melodies of the flute, and the wonderful Peruvians with whom we were able to
interact are just a few of my fond memories.
Last, but not least, our fearless leader, Keshav, a remarkable and much-loved
teacher, assisted me in abandoning my stories for the Truth of who I really am.

I found Peru to be a magical place on this earth
that combines both the immensity of nature and openheartedness of
people along with the intensity of its mystical history and energetic
vortexes. Those attributes in combination with the graceful style and mindful
teachings of Keshav Howe helped me to see exactly what I needed to do
and that I, indeed, could do it...release any and all mind concepts
and fear that kept me separate from what is around me, from what is me. Peru
opened its arms and I walked in and fell in love with myself again.

Power Journey to Thailand in 2006. This trip was
transformational for me. I had gone to Thailand in 2005, and it was
an exciting trip filled with wondrous ancient sites, an environment so different
from the US as to be disorienting at times, comfortable and unique lodgings,
fantastic traditional food and compassionate, beautiful people. It
was hard to imagine how it could be any better, but I went again this year
because of where I was in my own work and the memory of the state of spirit and
mind elicited while exploring a Buddhist nation.
Keshav and Alan had
planned an incredible trip full of unique experiences and many opportunities to
stretch emotionally and spiritually. It is difficult to find
adequate words for the sense of safety created by these two facilitators who
are so dedicated to providing a supportive yet challenging environment in which
to explore oneself. We visited temples. And rode
elephants! And visited temples. And hiked deep into
caves and high into villages. And rafted lazily through beautiful
country after a Mitote on the banks of a raging river. I’d go again
in a heartbeat.
